29 August 2009
Over £2500 was raised at the Enfield Mayor's BBQ held at the Mayor's house on Sunday 12th July.

Over 100 guests enjoyed a lavish Cypriot style banquet including assorted skewers of meat, various Cypriot speciality dishes and salads followed by an array of desserts, all washed down with good wine and beer all  served by a team of helpers.
The event raised £2,500 which was shared equally between The Leukaemia Society (UK) and the Mayors Charity fund.
Borough Mayor, Councillor Eleftherios Savva said:  “The evening was a huge success and I would like to thank the sponsors of the event Mr and Mrs Ourris of Anastasia Lodge, Costas and Sarra Constanti of Stock Motors for Sponsoring the children’s entertainment and the rest of the volunteers who worked so tirelessly cooking, serving and washing up, and last but not least everyone that attended the BBQ and helped to make it such a huge success.”
Androulla Stylianou, Co-ordinator of The Leukaemia Society, said “we have received so much positive feedback from the event; everyone that attended had a great time. We were so excited at the success of the BBQ, and these funds will go a long way toward providing support for the charity’s life saving work. We would like to thank the Mayor of Enfield Mr Savva for choosing the Leukaemia Society to benefit from this fundraising event and also extend our thanks to everyone that helped make it the success it was and to the Mayors wife, Androulla Savva, for her hospitality.”
