On October 12th 2005 The Leukaemia Society in conjunction with the University College London Hospital organized a visit at the new UCLH Building, were Mrs Papadopoulou, First Lady of Cyprus, met patients undergoing treatment.
A large percentage of Haematology Patients that arrive from Cyprus are treated at one of the UCL Hospitals. Mrs Papadopoulou was greeted by:
Top Haematologist and Patron of the Leukaemia Society, Professor Anthony Goldstone, Professor John Porter, Chairman of the Leukaemia Society Mrs Maria Nicolaou and other Committee members. Also present was Patron of the Society Dr Petros Karayiannis.
